According to initial reports the driver of the tour bus, which was transporting Chinese tourists, blamed the accident on brake failure. The injured, who are reported to be in safe condition with only minor injuries after being admitted to hospital, include five women and two men. I guess must have flipped round in the crash to be pointing up the hill so he must have hit something solid. A good thing too else he would have caused much more damage on Nanai Road. Patong Bay Hill Resort, arguably the largest resort on the Island. Owned by a well known local family and employer of many of the Time Share touts who infest the town. . There are many other hotels and guesthouse along that road which seem to be in contravention of building restrictions relating to altitude.
