BANGKOK: -- A taxi driver who has been providing free service to disabled people by taking them to hospitals was recently given a new taxi to replace his ageing car by a heir of Bhirompakdi family, Mr Piti Bhirompakdi.

The philanthropic cabbie, Mr Suwannachat Phromchart, on Monday posted a message in his Facebook page offering his heart-felt thanks to Mr Piti for the latter’s kindness in donating him a car which, he said, is being modified as a taxi which will be used to transport disabled people to hospitals.

Earlier, the cabbie said through his Facebook page that a kind-hearted man had donated him an electric chair to be installed in his taxi which will facilitate the moving of disabled passengers in and out of his vehicle.

Mr Suwannachat’s good deeds in helping the disabled has earned him widespread appreciation from netizens in the social media.

Not to be the to piss on the man's parade, but shouldn't one be licensed and qualify to transport

disabled people around? this is not the case just to shove them in the cab and drop them somewhere,

is he properly insured incase of an accident of a mishap to any of his passengers?

I hope someone will wake hip up to these requirements, and once in place, than he can continue

with his wonderful works.....

There's always one of these guys.

It happens from time to time on these pages and it is so nice to hear a delightfully pleasant story rather than the regular fair of tricky government maneuverings, road fatalities, murder, bloodshed and robbery. A glimmer of hope?

this is Thailand Mate get a grip

Why???

He is providing a FREE service.

Perhaps next time you give a lift to anyone you should get a license and upgrade your insurance.

It was good to hear of a good Samaritan on the forum for a change .So little help is afforded the disabled here and getting around even in a wheelchair must be a nightmare for a disabled person

As always some negative response from posters about two good people worthy of some praise.

I think you are a verry sad person with your negitive input on everything.

Get a life.

As a director of Boon Rawd brewery (Singha), Mr Bhirombhakdi has made a smart PR decision to help this cabbie and his good deeds. clap2.gif

I know he can afford to buy a whole fleet of taxis, but this certainly adds a positive touch to the company who already sponsor Chelsea FC.

Red Bull OTOH must merely sit and wonder how they can change their smeared image.

But you are indeed pissing on his parade ... and obviously mean to with a phrase like "shove them in a cab."

You must be a sad and cynical man.
