BANGKOK, 3 July 2016 (NNT) – Members of the National Legislative Assembly are set to meet after the weekend to discuss the reform of the country’s political party system.

Speaker of the NRSA Tinnapan Nakata has issued an order calling for sittings on July 4 and 5 for consideration of various reform issues.

On Monday, the NRSA will review a report from the committee on the reform of public health and the environment that discusses the management of marine resources and coasts.

In the report, the committee has suggested the enactment of a law to preserve the country’s marine benefits.

On Tuesday, the NRSA will also look at the report from the committee on political reform of the political party system and the report from the committee on the reform of local administration, which focuses on public participation in local government works.

How would this be different than what is prescribed in the 2016 draft charter that requires the MMA electoral system? Whatever the NRSA recommends, it would seem that such would be included in the draft charter. Perhaps the matter would be too toxic for a referendum vote and endanger passage of the draft charter by the Thai public.

Maybe the NRSA intends to explore legislation that would directly specify how each political party operates internally, ie., establish political priorities, doctrine and agenda; train politicians; and support its candidates. If this is the direction the NRSA takes, the nation in essence becomes a one-party system on par to a communist nation.

Headline reads "NRSA to discuss political party reform during Jul 4-5".

Then we are told "...Members of the National Legislative Assembly are set to meet after the weekend to discuss the reform of the country’s political party system..".

Finally, we are told that, on Tuesday, the NRSA will also look at the report from the committee on political reform of the political party system and the report from the committee on the reform of local administration, which focuses on public participation in local government works.

So, in reality, half a day at best for something as critical to Thailand as Political Party Reform!

While this may seem "logical process" of reform to the junta, for anyone else it's more like "geological progress".

Clearly, they have no intention of reforming the "political" landscape of Thailand for aeons!
