without Clarkson it was bound to go a bland boring PC way.

Given all the criticism I imagine he was 'required to quit'.

In any case, the failure of the new show was predictable. The BBC can't do non-PC stuff any more. They should have sold the rights to another channel.

clarkson was nothing but an over the top child!!............how it got the ratings it got is an indictment on TV these days....

but it doesn't take much to entertain a dumbed down society...

You obviously don't understand irony!

You have to "read between the lines"

Apparently it takes something. BBC's best minds gave it their best shot and yet the show is a turd,
It is because the BBC are a bunch of turds and they always have been.

They could have solved the so-called assault thing with Clarkson any number of ways, like any other sensible bosses, and saved a multi-million pound brand.

Payed out some compo; Clarkson apologise etc.

But no, so S.N.N..som num nah. Now they are left with rotten cannoli.

Even the turds they picked to replace the replace the successful trio..stink to high heaven

even i could have done better with three names..

Ricky Jervais comparer,

a few sporting personalities, maybe cricket..

Freddy Flintoff, Shane Warne etc

would have been more entertaining than those 3 stale turds!!

Re. the emboldened part, I disagree.

Clarkson assaulted a crew member, and so deserved to be sacked.

Admittedly, it has cost the BBC a lot of money - but this doesn't change the fundamental point that 'stars' cannot assault lower staff members.

Agreed. He should have shot him!!!

No dinner! What did the man expect!

Seriously they could have given him a million to b*gg** off.

He's a dinasour really, this is the kind of stuff I felt I had to be into as a kid. The really virile guys are into human rights, saving the planet, and women (not cars). Just saying. And the more feminist they are, the better. More of, like, a challenge.

and he is ginger

I was married to a red head for many years. No problem. I had her dye her hair blond ( on her head and shaved EVERYWHERE else). Great skin BTW
