Hi, I intend to go to my home country and get an METV.

I will then be going to Malaysia for 2 weeks and then going to Thailand. When going to Malaysia I would like to fly via Bangkok , change airports and then fly to Malaysia on Air Asia, as it fits with my timetable.

Is it possible to do this and have them give me a 30 day stamp for my 6 hours in Bangkok? without wasting one of my 3 visa entries

Thank you

Also the METV visa starts from when it is issued, not when you make your first entry.

The last entry must be made on or before the visa expiry date on the issued visa, which will be 6 months after it is issued.
So best to get it as soon your date of arrival in Thailand as possible if you want to get the maximum use of it.

On your last entry you will again receive another 60 days - so if you time it right (i.e. make the entry just before the visa expiry date) you can get around 8 months from this visa, which can then be extended by a further 30days at an immigration office like a regular tourist visa.

Hi, I intend to go to my home country and get an METV.

In the past some people called the 2 or 3 entry tourist visas "multiple entries," but that was a bit misleading since you would have been limited to two or three entries exactly.

The METV, which replaces the old 2 or 3 entry visas, is truly "multiple entry" since, as long as the visa is valid, you can enter and exit as often as you please and each time you enter you will be given a new 60 day permission to stay, even if your last entry is just before the visa expires.

The rationale was that it would suit visitors to SE Asia who might want to use Thailand as a base, but make multiple short excursions to nearby countries.
