Pong Nam Ron Immigration

Featured Replies

Pong Nam Ron Immigration on Highway 317 at Thap Sai, is now closed for services. you have to go to Chantaburi, to the Jewelry Centre almost opposite the main Post Office. Went yesterday, very cool reception and unfriendly but efficient enough. Also pretty ordinary premises.

Is this a permanent closure?

I don't know to be sure, but I will ask when I go back next week for 90 day report. Here's me thinking I can switch over to a new passport, get a residency certificate for my drivers license renewal and make my 90 day report in one visit. So far I've been twice. got the passport changed over, didn't have the right paperwork for the residency certificate so went back today and was told to come back for it in 7 days. <deleted> my license expires Monday, oh mai pen rai she says. And she didn't take the 90 day slip out of the old passport which I didn't take with me today so I couldn't do that either. I could have done all 3 at Pong Nam Ron, they were ditzy but cool there. Anyway I'll get back to you.

Thank you, have you ever done the border crossing at Pashar Prum, not sure of the spelling, to get your 90 day stamp, I am here on a multi entry O-A visa, first one and from what I have read you can cross the border and come back and if timed right you can turn your visa to and almost two year visa without having done and extension. Appreciate any input you can give me on this one. I am living in Mae Phim area of Rayong

The 2 border crossings here are Ban Laem and Ban Pakkad. I have been through Ban Leam quite a few times a few years ago but the most you could pull I thought was 15 months ie by going close to your expiry date and getting 3 more months. Laem Mae Phim is quite nice I can understand why you want to stay there, (if the beach is clean though). We go there quite a bit.

Like you, quite a lot of people do not seem to realize that the Non O-A visa and the multiple entry Non O are completely different. The multi Non O is the one with 90-day entries (and thus a maximum of 15 months, or possibly 17 months with a 60-day extension). The Non O-A provides 12 months on each entry, and thus nearly two full years with correct timing.
