char coal

Featured Replies

every time i go through 3/4 of a bag of charcoal - we do a lot of outdoor cooking - i end up with the remaining quarter to be just powder or small pieces that fall through the bbq.

has anyone found a way of compacting or combining this 'dust' to be able to use it instead of putting it in the compost? please?

thank you

i like the banana one..., but why invest thb 100 to save thb 20?

apart, have you actually done any of this?

i got a large amount of 'links' and 'hints' and 'methods' through google, but none seemed like the 'i can do this' variety.

involving machinery and stuff that would only make sense on a commercial basis.

i am just looking for a simple, domestic use.

perhaps there is none?

No - just saw this....

One idea shows how to make briquettes though....Maybe with the right mix & an egg tray or the like you can recycle & burn.....

The Charwood chrcoal is not all the same. The one made from mangroove wood is the best. it burns longer. Rambutan smells ggod but burns fast. You can also buy Thai briquettes. They are cylindrical. Mixed with taro and burn well. When you go to a restaurant and they bring charcoal to your table...those are made here. Hard to find and when or if you find it. Best to buy a huge bag. Thailand ships food grade charcoal to japan and the states.....

So did the PI......'Til they ran out of trees.....

If you're referring to the Philippines, they are still one of the 10 biggest wood charcoal exporters in the world so what you say is utter nonsense.
