Extending Thai Tourist Visa

Featured Replies

Hi there,

I am from the UK and 42 years old. I came to Thailand on a 30 tourist visa and then extended it by a further 30 days within Thailand. Is there any way to further extend this type of visa at all or do I have to leave the country at the end of this period (60 days)? Many thanks!

I hate to say it as it annoys me when other people do but you don't have a tourist visa, you have a visa exempt

You can get 7 more days at any Immigration Office, cost 1900 Baht, after that you must leave

You did not get a 30 day tourist visa on entry it is a visa exempt entry.

You can only get one 30 day extension per entry. The only extension you can get now is 7 days.

You could do a border crossing or fly out and back to get a new 30 day entry.

If you plan on staying longer the best option would be get a single entry tourist visa at a nearby embassy or consulate. The visa would allow a 60 day entry that can be extended for 30 days.

Hi,

I am entering Thailand on a visa on arrival for 15 days. But my tickets are on the 16th day early morning at 2 am. If I cross the immigration point on the 15th day but fly out on the 16 th day, will I be granted the visa on arrival or will they charge some fine? Can anybody help me with this info??

If you arrive,

let us say on 1.8.2016 Monday, the 15th day is then the 15.8.2016 the 16th day is the 16.8.

and for the first day of overstay when you leaving by air, you do not have to pay a fine, but get possibly a stamp about that 1 day in your Passport - no problem.

(2 AM is already a new day, important is when you leave Thailand soil not when you pass the Immigration desk)

If you have more then that 1 day overstay you pay 500 Baht a day and also the first day, so 2 days are 1.000.- Baht.wink.png

PS: You must not post your question multiple times, first give people a chance to answer, when you question in the middle of the night. tongue.pngthumbsup.gif

Thank you very much for the quick response everyone! I shall extend for another 7 days when my 30 day extension ends. :-)
