Heavy rains expected across the Kingdom

BANGKOK, 8 July 2016 (NNT) – The Meteorological Department has announced heavy rain is to be seen across the nation with particular caution voiced for 13 provinces in the north, east and south.

In a report from the Meteorological Department, officials revealed that a low pressure front covering the Kingdom’s north and parts of Myanmar combined with a monsoon from the southwest will result in inclement weather in all parts of Thailand.

The monsoon system will kick up waves in the Andaman Sea and Gulf of Thailand and bring heavy rain to many areas. Provinces that should brace for storms include Chiang Mai, Chiang rai, Phayao, Prae, Nan, Pitsanulok, Petcabun, Chantaburi, Trad, Ranong, Phuket, Krabi and Trang. The mentioned locations may be at risk of flash flooding and forest run off.

Rains will also continue in Bangkok during this period. Small boats in the south are urged to stay at shore.

oops.

Might make for a very wet trip from Udon to Ko Samui, scheduled for tomorrow. Perhaps not so bad this side, as most of the provinces listed are not in the North East. Expect it to get worse, as we near Bangkok and head south.

We will take our time, over 2 or 3 days. Hope the worst is over, before the ferry portion.

Nice to know.

Some people keep their thoughts silently to themselves.

Some people utter their thoughts out loud privately.

Some people tell everybody around them their thoughts.

Looks like this has evolved to telling the entire world their thoughts through little notes on the internet.

Have a safe journey, but please do not keep us constantly updated as you navigate around. It is dangerous to type and drive.

A committee was formed to come to that conclusion.

And after careful deliberation they stuck their collective heads out of windows at the Met Dept then issued the weather bulletin.

The clogged up drainage system will be unclogged in September.

It certainly is. We are moving there now for a reason......off season rentals (hoping for one year lease).

Wet is the downside part...for sure. But sure as rain, the season passes...and the tourists will return (along with higher rentals and slim pickings)

A welcome inconvenience, if we find a home to rent at a decent price, and lock it in.

So storm all you like.....the harder, the better (cheaper).

TMD is not 8 hours behind. The time shown is UTC. Add 7 hours for Thai time.

OK... you've all had a bit of fun... but this is the News Forum, not the Pub.

Sorry to rain on your parade but off-topic and troll posts have been removed from this thread.

Banter belongs in the Pub.

The gf and i built a house in Issan,

my standards are high, not expensive,

as a builder i know the building codes

but i was building a house, she a barn.

I built the house, her family the roof,

i questioned and pointed out faults with

the roof, (lack of flashing's etc) and

every time i was beaten down (my family

know what they are doing)

After the house was finished they kicked

me out, moved mama and papa in, the house

leaks like a sieve and they begged me to

return and fix it with my money, are these

people crazy, so let it rain, the more the

happier it makes me.

The Thai weather people have been terrible lately in my view. And if TMD is off 8 hours what good is that to anyone. I hope the radar they use at the airports isn't that far off.

Never happens in the rainy season. Maybe March or April. What morons get paid to write these articles? Can I join up?

Rain is good for ricethumbsup.gif

I can't wait!!

It has been raining in CM for 4 days now

It rains so rarely in Pattaya. I really enjoy it when it does.
