Looking for a nice holiday and getting a tourist visa.

Featured Replies

Hello, I have a Non-b visa but it is going to expire and according to the HR at my school I need to leave Thailand and come back with a tourist visa in order to change it to Non-B again with my new school.

Assuming this information is correct, I guess I can go any country so I was thinking about enjoying myself a little bit too, but I don't know any other country in South Asia.

Can I get some recommendations about countires in South Asia that have have interesting things to do or to see, or worth visiting?

I have Spanish passport and I would go by plane and by myself. Thanks.

Edit: I am into anything but temples!

With supporting documents from the new school you should be able to get a non-b visa without a problem. I can think of no reason for you to get a tourist visa first.

Bali might be nice holiday. There is a honorary Thai consulate there that would do the tourist visa.

I don't really know why... the reason must be that they need 60 days to do the application for the non-b. I can't remember, my non-b will expire next month. So is there a way of doing this without leaving the country?

All they have to do is get all the required documents together for you to apply for the non-b visa.

I assume you have an extension of stay you got at an immigration office not a valid non-b visa.

The only way to avoid leaving the country would be for your new employer to apply for your work permit and have proof of the application in order to apply for a new extension after your current one is canceled by presenting a termination letter from your current employer.

If you have to go then I suggest Vietnam. HCMC in particular. With Spanish pp you are also visa exempt for 15 days. Thai consulate is good. However you need flight in and out to apply for setv. Think consulates will be same. A setv from Vientiane is simple. Does not require onward flight and few days in Vientiane or udon thani is nice. Flights cheap.
