Metro Police give report on its recent crime-fighting efforts

BANGKOK, 11 July 2016, (NNT) - The Metropolitan Police Bureau (MPB) has reported on its efforts to tackle crime in Bangkok.

The Metropolitan Police Division 1 made the report over the weekend, boasting an arrest of 70 suspects over the course of last week. The unit said the arrests were the result of the Royal Thai Police's policy to suppress crime in all areas and protect life and property. .

According to MPB Deputy Commissioner Pol. Maj. Gen. Sompong Chingduang, most of the arrests consisted of robbery, narcotics possession, and gambling related to Euro 2016.

He singled out one particular incident, where the search of a van depot at the Victory Monument led to the discovery of several firearms and other contraband. Pol. Maj. Gen. Sompong said the MPB will conduct similar searches to prevent crime in the capital.

The detention of Lady Kai has sent their credibility to the stratosphere. Maybe there is a faint inkling of hope yet!

At some point, they have to know, that WE know, "arrests" don't mean anything in Thailand. Report the crime, the judgement, and the sentence. Arresting 70 people, collecting "fines to clear the case" doesn't do anyone any good.

That "faint inkling of hope" would increase 1,000 fold if they got off their bums and policed pedestrian crossings

and dangerous motorists in general.

Wow...what a new, ground breaking policy. I wonder if other police forces around the world will adopt such a new and innovative policy.

Perhaps in this case they should wait a bit. If the investigation is expanded, and the victims were illegally imprisoned, credibility could end up nearer to the asthenosphere than the stratosphere............................wink.png

(asthenosphere = the lowest layer of the crust). Save you looking it up.........................thumbsup.gif
