Vasim Sorya, the director-general of administration at the Ministry of Public Works, said the plan to build the new road from Pailin to Koh Kong was being studied, aimed at increasing exports. “Now we plan to construct two new roads, one from Pursat or Battambang to Koh Kong and the second from Pailin province to Koh Kong,” Mr. Sorya said. The new road project will take up to five years to complete and will need a budget before work can start, Mr. Sorya said, without giving any details of the estimated cost. The new road from Pailin to Koh Kong will help farmers transport their products to be exported, Mr. Sorya said.
