Friend visiting from UK

Featured Replies

Have 2 friends who are thinking of visiting Thailand for a holiday January 2017. Want to enter on 30 day visa exempt then fly either to Malaysia or Vietnam for 30 days then return to Thailand for 30 days before flying home. For the experts here what is the best way to do this re visas especially for Vietnam and return to Thailand? Any foreseeable problems?

Many thanks in advance for your answers.

For the Thailand side of things there would be no problem. I suggest they buy their tickets for either Malaysia or Vietnam before traveling so they have a ticket out within 30 days of arrival.

Malaysia is a visa exempt entry. Not sure about Vietnam at the moment they may have to get visas on arrival.

UK citizens can enter Vietnam visa exempt for a period of 15 days (as can nationals of France, Germany, Italy and Spain). This is a temporary exemption introduced for a year from 1 July 2015, but now extended for an additional year until 30 June 2017. For a stay of more than 15 days, a visa is required. After a visa exempt entry, a further such entry cannot be made within 30 days. An onward flight within 15 days must be shown on entry.
