Cheap internet TV in Phuket (Kathu)

Featured Replies

Hello, my sister has just moved in a new small house in Phuket (Kathu) and she is on very limited budget.

There is no internet plan in house and no TV channel.

She is looking at cheap solution to get an internet solution + some TV channel (preferably some French channel + few movies channel (english is ok) and maybe some news channel).

She is not very familiar with internet.

I was thinking that she could get a plan from True (internet + TV channel via internet) but true is not going to her place.

I am thinking about getting an internet connection (either 3BB or TOT...) and buy a TV box (such as Minix or whatever I have been reading on this forum).

Does anyone has any advises?

Myself never had any problems with 'Kodi' was XBMC had it for years you just add what every you want from anywhere in the world in whatever language you wish...

I do have a cheap TV box [2,100 baht] and also have it on my PC and laptop.. + it is FREE, lots of help on the internet + YouTube and from Kodi itself..

eg: https://www.tvaddons.ag/kodi-francais/

Get 3bb if its available. Tot sucks, true isnt much better.

Thanks all for the feedback. Yes, I actually myself have my house in Kathu and using 3BB FTTH 100mbps and i am quite happy with it. Was using TOT before. As for TV, I am using True Vision (Satelitte) with platinum plan and 3 boxes receivers. It's all fine. But my sister who just moved in in Kathu has not the same budget as me. Actually her budget is very very limited. So I have been thinking to get her a good internet connection, similar that I have 3BB which cost me 1,280b / month and get her a TV Box such as explained above. I will most probably pay for the internet plan for her and purchase the TV box myself and instal it myself. Where can I buy this TV box in Phuket and which model is the best (don't care much about the cost). Also is it coming pre-loaded with Kodi? If it is not available in Phuket, i have the option to get it in Bangkok as I am frequently in Bangkok

You can purchase a good Minix box in a shop downstairs at Big C. Prices are same as BKK. I dont know if they come preloaded with Kodi but, its a very simple download. I own both Android and a Windows box. I am most fond of the Windows box as its the easiest to setup Kodi on. I had TOT also as it was what the landlord had installed. After the contract expired, I got 3BB and am much happier. Actually, I live in Kathu and use the box as my TV solution.

Thanks. I will have a look in Big C for the Minix.
