PM ready to address ASEM Summit in Mongolia today

BANGKOK, 15 July 2016 (NNT) – Thai Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha is scheduled to deliver a speech this morning at the 11th Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) Summit being held in Mongolia.

Prime Minister Prayut, accompanied by his wife and an entourage, arrived at Chinggis Khaan International Airport in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia yesterday evening and was warmly greeted by Mr Puntsag Tsagaa, Chief of Staff of the President of Mongolia, and his team. The premier is paying an official visit to the Mongolian capital in order to participate in the 11th ASEM Summit, taking place between July 14 and 16.

As the opening ceremony of the Summit will be held this morning, Gen Prayut is set to speak before a gathering of ASEM stakeholders, including parliamentary delegates, businesspeople, youth and civil sector representatives.

The premier will then join in the First Plenary Session under the topic “Two Decades of Partnership: Taking Stock and Looking Ahead”. After a luncheon hosted by Mongolian President Tsahiagiin Elbegdorj, he will take part in the Second Plenary Session under the topic “Promoting ASEM Partnership for Greater Connectivity”.

Could pick up a few pointers from the Genghis book of "how to " whilst he is there helping them to understand Thailand perhaps?

Will they bother to wait until the summit is over before issuing the usual ' everyone understands and supports ' BS ?

I hope he has a good story to tell the Vietnamese ASEM delegation as to the behaviour of his cowboy navy in demolishing three of their fishing vessels and previously shooting down unarmed fishermen. How to win friends within the ASEAN community.

Rather contrasting presentation with previous elected PM. Wonder how the free world view his message and the presenter.

Would that be the previous elected PM who was removed by a court for an illegal abuse of power? Would that be the famous 'democracy and my brother is innocent" speech?"

Thank you 3 times.

I"s sure the free world, whoever that might be in your mind, is capable of judging the veracity of the previous puppet PM and her intellect.

Let's see what is actually reported in the independent media this time, then we'll know

Fortunately its not the free word that he is addressing. Just parliamentary delegates, businesspeople, youth and civil sector representatives. Pretty low profile presentation. Yingluck presentation was for the 7th Ministerial Conference of the Community of Democracies. It was appropriately presented by an elected PM.

Ooh. The Thaksin-haters put in a late appearance. I thought they'd all died and gone to barstool heaven or something.

Win.
