90 day whilst outside the country

Featured Replies

My 90 day report is due 12 October. My annual retirement extension is until 16 January 17.

I am leaving Thailand on 26 September and returning 2 or 3 January.

If they let me do the 90 day report early then a further 90 day report would fall due while I'm still not here. Either way I miss one.

Will they just let me back in with a stamp until 16 January?

I will of course be asking them when I go for the re-entry permit but want to know now before I make all the arrangements.

Thanks

Leaving the country resets the clock on the 90 day report. It starts again on entry. In effect, entering the country and filling out the arrival card is an address report.

Be sure you have a reentry permit before you leave to keep the permission to stay date on your extension valid.

You don't need to do a report of staying longer than 90 days if you are not here that long. If you leave on or before the 90th day no report is due. You first report after returning will be 90 days from the date you enter the country.

When return they will stamp you in until January 16th. Be sure you put your re-entry permit number on the arrival card in the space for visa number.

  • As you are not staying in the country longer than 90 days you do not need to report, and can forget about the report due on October 12th.

As long as you have a re-entry permit they will stamp you back in until January 16th.

If you re-enter on January 2nd or 3rd your next 90 day report would be April 1st or 2nd, unless, the IO gives you a new report date (unlikely) when you renew your extension of stay.
