Is there a way to disable notifications on win 7 globally?

Featured Replies

It's boring. Antivirus program wants go get updated, notebook wants to get restarted after updates, new flash version and so on. It never stops, email is coming in. Notifications over notifications.

How to stop all this notifications?

Thanks you just reminded me to check for Windows updates - only 16 of them over 100mg. Don't know why but it never tells me anymore so I have the opposite of your issue. Mine is set to notify me but not install.

AV - Avast updates itself apart from when it is a major change so don't see that very often. Flash not seen for a while.

Maybe check your settings on the prolific updates?

PS - The simple answer to your topic question I think is No

The notifications are telling you to upgrade various programs mostly for security issues. Ignoring them will increase your chances of a system destroying crypto locker attack or other viruses. Windows upgrades happen frequently nad mo

Yes it's a pain, but you can choose an o/s that will be less intrusive in updates such as a linux variant.

Funnily enough just had a Flash Player update. When you proceed it gives you the option to have updates downloaded and installed automatically - so presumably you would not then be bothered by a notification. You can also change it manually in Control Panel.

Yes you can.

Win 7 is old crap anyhow. Get rid of that junk and upgrade to at least windows 8

With windows 8 or windows 10 you can choose when and if you want to be notified of updates....and choose if you want to download that update or not.

Personally I don't like windows 10....to damn intrusive....but at least you can tell it to stop bugging you and let you decide when and if you want updates.
