Marriage visa

Featured Replies

Evening.

My non immigrant O visa runs out 31st august.

I need to go to the UK friday, and will return, about 20 august.

When i return, will my non immigrant still be valid, as i want to apply for a marriage visa, and any idea how long they will give me in the country on the stamp when i enter.

Thanks in advance.

If the 31st of August is the enter before date on your visa you will get a 90 day entry if you enter on or before that date. The enter before date is just that it does not limit the amount of time you can be in the country.

If you have a multiple entry non 'O' visa with an 'enter before' date of August 31st you will be granted a 90 day permit to stay when you re-enter on August 20th.

Thanks for that. I thought that was maybe the case, which is what i didn't really want, as i was hoping to apply for my marriage visa, that week on return.

I'll have current bank statements, plus a letter from my uk bank, so I'm hoping they will still be valid in 3 months time, unless i explain my situation, you never know, they may give me a month stamp??

Thanks again.

Where do plan on applying for a visa after your return?

If you are writing about applying for an extension of stay based (it is not visa) uipon marriage at a immigration office your UK bank statement will not be of any use. You must have the 400k baht in a Thai bank for 2 months or proof of 40k baht income proven by a income letter from the UK embassy.

If applying for another multiple entry non-o visa based upon marriage you can get one in Savannakhet Laos with no financial proof and you can do it at anytime you want during the 90 day entry your current visa will allow.

  • When you enter using the non 'O' visa they will give you 90 days. They will not agree to give you "a month stamp".
  • Because you enter with a non immigrant visa and are married you can apply to extend your 90 day stay by 1 year.
  • You can apply within the last 30 (maybe 45) days of your 90 day stay.
  • Visas are only required for entry. Once you have entered you can apply for qualifying extensions of stay even after the visa has expired.

Just as elviajero said,I think lol
