Is it possible to change a 30-day exemption into a non-immigrant B for a WP or education visa?

I've been told it can only be done if currently on a tourist visa.

It is possible if you have at least 15 days remaining on your entry.

In order to a apply for a non immigrant visa (class b ) based upon qualifying for an extension based upon working you must have proof of a work permit application being done plus a stack of documents from your employer.

On only if attending a university or some type of formal school (language school is informal) would it be done for education.

Thanks Ubonjoe. I just got back from Laos on an exemption because I was missing two documents to apply for a Non-B.

If you are in Bangkok you could apply for it at immigration there. PDF files of their requirements follow.

I can't seem to get access to these PDF files. It says: "This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it. The document tree is shown below."

Is there another way I can access them?
