Last year I was wandering down Soi 13/4 in South Pattaya and to my amazement (and disgust I might add !) there were about a dozen men (not ladyboys) dancing in the middle of the street STARK NAKED, tackle swinging ! Even phoned City Hall but realized it was futile :(

I don't believe your story.

I think that it like Bangkok is already zoned. The only thing that I would add is that hotels have a tourism package that tells families areas that they should not take their kids.

There are always going to be these areas.

The big difference now is that people on both sides have forgotten about common sense.

You are talking about this as if it is a face-to-face discussion. It is not. It derives from an on-line poll and thus has no basis in common sense.

I have seldom seen family groups in Soi 6, it is obvious that the merchandise available in this street is specialised. Would one take one's family around a car showroom unless one was considering buying a car? Or into a hairdressers unless someone needed a trim?

Regrettably Soi 6 has changed much in character since the 90s, when it was having with daytime entertainment for those who took their breakfast late and liquid. I look back fondly to the times when half-a-dozen of us would be sitting around, drinking our breakfast and the girls would all be giving<deleted>. Whatever happened to Nice-on-Ice and so on?

I fully agree with you.  Times have changed and I also wish that in some cases they had not.

The issue is that while most of us have what is known as common sense it seems that very few tourists bring that with them.

Hence we get the mom and dad that will decry the fact that their daughter saw a lady boy hooker even though it is widely known that NAN has lots of them.

They will complain about being accosted for pingpong show or getting "ripped" off for a genuine fake role when everyone knows that Patpong is the place to go.

Likely we will see what had happened eons ago in Las vegas. Hooker broads pushed out into the hinterlands as property values rise.

It always takes Thailand longer to get things done

but in time.....they always get done

b

I think that is slowly happening in Pattaya. Look at drinking street and soi 2 and 3 areas. Suits me less traveling from my digs dark side

"Is it time for zoning to protect children and youths from the worst excesses of the resort?" - a crappy unthought out question that really deserves to be chucked in the bin.

Whats the problem,,  woman on any beach wearing less than these woman do,  and a lot don't have nice bodies like these,

in fact some would put you off wanting sex for the rest of your life.    Fat, unfit, acres of flesh wobbling around like jelly,,    horrible.

Should obviously be controlled......not everyone who visits Pattaya is a sad male that can't get a girlfriend in their own country.......I have visited pattaya many times as my son loves the water park there however he's growing up and don't want him to see this in the street....in the bars fair enough but he's innocent and wish to keep him that way for a while yet

Then you should avoid these streets, there is other ways to get around Pattaya without passing these streets. The beer bars are all over but they are kind of discrete.

I don't see what all the fuss is about.

These girls, will likely find a gullible young stag, convince him, she is the love of his life.

Move to Europe.

Suddenly start dressing like a Sunday School Teacher, while spending Hubby's hard earned cash.

When it runs out, she whips off the gowns onto a flight back BKK and on to Pattaya to do it all again.

Personally, I think there wearing a little too much. Nothing like bear back.

Camp two, however, said that Pattaya soi 6 is a public place where children and youth might see what was going on. That is not appropriate and the government should consider creating zones where such behavior should not be permitted.

Yep, or we always have the choice to be a responsible parent that knows the right places to bring their own children. Ops! See, no zones needed, right?

Is it against the law to be dressed like that? If not, then there could be a legal issue. Certainly, if these ladies were in my neighborhood dressed like that I would call the police (or get them out of the public eyes if my daughter was in school i.e I was by myself...555).

Plenty of people take their kids to Walking Street.  The OP should explain to his kids what he perceives to be wrong with the situation.  He might also explain white supremacy and Cultural Imperialism. Or just avoid the already, effectively zoned areas.

He's growing up.  Let him grow up. Educate him not blindfold him. BTW we are joyous males having a great time. I am 65 and don't like being preached at by breeders. You knew the reputation of Pattaya when you came here. BTW.  Having a kid is a selfish, environmentally damaging act. The most environmentally damaging act any individual can do. The saddest guys I see here are the married men exuding jealousy at our freedom.

Don't blame the girls...it's the system that is at fault as it denies reasonable employment/opportunities to anyone who doesn't have a degree (even then it's restrictive too). Nowhere have I seen such a discriminatory culture in a reasonably developed country...shocker really. Not like you can get ahead through hard work and loyalty...haha, sadly. Most foreigners have no idea of how hard and nasty Thai society and it's rules really are...about as discriminatory as it can be. Sorry apologists...but it's true, you just haven't been here long enough or seen the sharp end enough really tbh.
