Time for zoning - or just another day in Pattaya?

Featured Replies

I hope in the near future there will be zoning and the people they cater for can go there.
I know some really nice ladyboys and I don't mind them, but when they are working the constant harassment like calling, grabbing, aggressiveness, indecent behaviour etc. justifies a zoning.

Soi 6, soi buakhaw, beachroad and some side streets of beachroad are the worst.

  • zoning? I thought it was already zoned. There is Pattaya and there is the rest of Thailand.

Not many families with children venture onto Soi 6. I'd say its pretty much zoned.

Who doesn't want to see it, doesn't have to go there.

Actually, Middle East is getting pretty empty in these days

Unfortunately if you're white and visit the mid-east they class you as American.

Soi 6 is clearly 'unique'. It is already in a zone of its own. Leave it alone, and perhaps a sign at the entrance might be nice to make visitors aware of it's 'adult' character. Or not!

Every time I walk down Soi 6, which is rarely...I feel unclean.  The first time I ever visited Pattaya, a British friend took me to Soi 6 just to watch my reaction. He was not disappointed.

The only zoning needed is to exclude vehicular traffic from the street.  Perhaps the barriers could include signs extolling the delights beyond--I mean, warning parents about exposing their kids to ancient human occupations (LBs maybe not so ancient).

It is zoned.

The families know full well what the girls are doing and fully support it.

They do but I believe it's a system of denial.  Everyone knows but nobody really talks about it or they tell the neighbors they are working at a restaurant or something.  The neighbors know the deal but just smile and nod. I mean, how else is it supposed to work?

Just put a gate either end of the soi like they do in Germany and say 18+only.

whats the fuss, can see a girl with a bikini on the beach any day of the week. she has pants on <deleted>. if ya dont like it, dont go there simples. dont dictate to others and any parent taking a child there must need their head read.

Outrageous since Soi 6 is clearly a family oriented Soi????

Of course it's getting negative reviews in Thai media.

No one wants their girls/laydboys etc  seen touched this way by foreigners.

Try taking one of your male Thai friends to a GoGo Bar and see what happens
