Story by Albert Jack

PATTAYA: -- At 1am, on the morning of July 31, twenty-eight-year-old Mr Jonson Ryu, a Korean engineer, reported an incident that happened right in front of a police patrol rest area on Naklua Road, Pattaya.

He claims he was riding on a motorbike taxi when a teenager pulled up alongside him, snatched his gold chain, valued at 30,000 bath, and rode away. He says he gave chase on foot but the suspect escaped.

Mr Ryu told reporters he wants the thief caught so he can ‘never commit more crimes.’

How is catching the thief going to make it co he can "never commit more crimes"? Unless, you apply the death penalty to thieves, I think it cannot happen.

It must be worldwise news by now that wearing gold chains in Pattaya is not recommended.  It's almost an every day occurence now.  Either the victim is, shall we say, "A can short of a six-pack", or it's yet another insurance scam.

....never read that any of these crooks ever spent a day in jail......

It's the transfer of wealth from foreigners to Thai people.  I will not be an important issue.  Until there are no tourists, of course.

I think this is taking piercing too far!
