BANGKOK: -- As the August 7 referendum is just three days ahead, campaign to encourage the people to come out and vote is now being waged actively across the country by the Election Commission.

In Bangkok a procession of fancy Tuk Tuk and cars was launched at the Royal Plaza to roam the streets to urge the people to the Sunday poll.

The launch was presided over by EC chairman Supachai Somcharoen.

Similar events were also held by election commissions in Nakhon Ratchasima, Chiang Mai, Khon Kaen, Pattani, and etc.

The Election Commission expects 80% voters’ turnout in Bangkok on Sunday’s poll of the 4.4 million eligible voters.

There are 50 million eligible voters nationwide.
