Is everyone getting the popup about notifications on every page you open at Thaivisa and you have to kill it - I already followed all the links and can say no to notifications, but how do I stop the popup on every page every time in firefox  the little i left side of address bar.  web push has been coded into the pages, but no instruction followed seems to turn off the request for notifications popup.

I can't stand that popup every single page every time.  I don't get it on other sites just TV.

I don't think it is the same thing - I am not bothered by notifications them self from TV (I have those set for TV site in my account) this is something to do with firefox but caused by the TV site coding.

Does anyone have these popups every time you open any page on TV every time you open a new page or did they ever have them and what did they do exactly to stop it from asking again about wanting or not wanting notification.

In fact browser notification is turned off - but still these popups happen asking me to maybe turn it back on or not - it reads;

www.thaivisa.com

would you like to receive notifications from this site

                                learn more

with the option of yes or not now    nether of which seems to change this

With Thavisa loaded in Firefox, in Firefox's address bar, click the little grey 'i' symbol in a circle on the LHS.
From the resultant menu, under 'Permissions', select 'Block'.

Thank you

OK there was a few more clicks before you get to the long list of items and you have to uncheck somethings just to check block - I blocked everything and then found I had to turn a few things back on just to use TV or post a reply but the stupid popup seems to have stopped.  Strange this is the only site ever that I have seen this before - that's a ton of stuff.

I did the same click with BP the other news source and they have the setting the same as TV was to begin with but never have I nor do I get that popup from them or anyone else.

I guess as I run into things that may not work on this site I can turn something on in there - never had to mess with any of that before and still don't on other sites.

The other way to reach the menu is, from Firefox's Menu Bar:

Tools>Options>Content>Notifications>Choose

I was still getting the 'bloop' sound when someone posted to a thread I was viewing so have checked the 'Do not disturb me' box to see if that gets rid of it.

Click on the  i to on left side of address bar

Right of Thaivisa click on >

Bottom of box click on more information

Click the tab for permissions

Start blocking the long list of things - I had to leave load images and cookies for site to even work.   Everything else is off - I don't get notified of posts or quotes anymore (they should have though about that before they hosed the site up) - only email if I follow.

Good luck with it - I am clicking off notify of replies to prevent anymore emails.  If this does not work for you I don't know what else to do anyway. maybe have to bug TV support.

edit: PS this is firefox I don't know if other browsers even had this problem.

RKASA, I've done that and it works fine until I restart Firefox and then the permissions are reset back to their original settings and I get the popups again.
