BANGKOK: -- A Chinese national wanted for a 5 billion baht fraud in his homeland has been arrested at a condominium in Huay Kwang.

The arrest is the latest success for Thai Immigration police working on their "Good guys in, Bad guys out" initiative, reported Thairath.

And according to Chinese authorities in Jiang Su province, Sun Jian Sue is definitely one of the bad guys.

A warrant was out for his arrest in the matter of a massive fraud committed against more than 10,000 of his countrymen in 2015. A fraudulent investment scheme was set up enticing people to to put money into tea, rice, pharmaceuticals and other products.

Returns of 16 - 18% were promised but when it came to pay day the company had packed up shop and disappeared.

Police in China say losses amount to I billion Yuan or approximately 5 billion baht. Sun Jian Sue is believed to have left the mainland for Hong Kong on May 19th before coming to hide in Thailand.

He was arrested at the Belle Condominium on Rama 8 Road and was detained with his right to remain in the kingdom rescinded.

Thai immigration officers continue to enjoy a number of high profile successes in recent weeks with a top Filipino kidnapper and a high profile Japanese fraudster apprehended.

The latter was picked up by grateful Japanese police this week.
