RIO DE JANEIRO: -- Michael Phelps won his 19th Olympic gold medal on Sunday in Rio.

The 31-year-old helped the US men’s team to victory in the 4×100 metres freestyle relay.

Phelps originally retired after the 2012 Games but decided to return.

It was his first competitive appearance in the pool after sitting out the heats.

France took the silver medal and Australia went away with the bronze.

Congratulations.

A job well done.

Amazing. Retired, came back...GOLD! Yeah!

Quite an amazing achievement to come back to form like that again. CNN commented about Phelps the other day:

CNN host W. Kamau Bell, he is just a "tall, successful, rich white guy" who clearly didn’t "need the honor" of being chosen by his athlete peers as America's flag-bearer. Instead, Bell exclaims, Ibtihaj Muhammad, a woman, an African-American and a Muslim to boot, should have been chosen because "right now America has enough tall, successful, rich white guys hogging the spotlight trying to make America great."

I have olympics on my iphone and will soon win my 25th gold medal!!!!!!

when in doubt, ask questions of doping!!!!   then eat 11 BigMacs on couch!!!

I do swim enough...say 2 miles a week....more than some on TV.   So I have a good idea how fast these swimmers are.....and it's impossible for me to really explain it in a post.....they are FISH...

Your never too old...
