Renewing OA visa from Australia multiple times?

Featured Replies

Just wondering if anyone is actually coming here on an OA visa....spinning it out to the 2 years (by leaving and re entering before the first year) and rather than getting extensions here, simply returning to Australia and making a new OA visa?

Ive just completed my first extension which was relatively painless....but the cost of bringing 800k THB here, tfer fees, loss of interest in Australia etc over 2 years would roughly equate to a plane ticket back to Australia and change. Im thinking rather than muck around with the money in the bank and the extensions here every year, why not just go back to Australia every two years and make a new OA visa?

My first thoughts would have been that the Thai embassy would start to ask questions or limit you to a certain amount of concurrent OA visa applications but I am told the embassy doesn't care how many times you apply for an OA visa. Does anyone do it this way or have successfully obtained multiple back to back OA visas from their Thai embassy?

There are members of this forum that have been returning home to get new OA visas for several years already.

I don't recall how many were from Australia but it should be no different there than at at other locations.
