Wanting to an upright freezer

Featured Replies

Not easy to find apparently in Thailand. I mean the one with a closed door (no glass door) with drawers as we use them in Europe and US.

I only found one model: Mitsubishi, 5 drawers + 1 compartment, 144 liters, only 55 cm wide. Actually I prefer a bigger one.

I already went to HomePro, Makro, Power Buy, ...

Any suggestions.
BTW we live in Isan (Ubon Ratchathani)

Trouble with upright freezers is that every time you open the door, all the cold air falls out. If you have the space, a chest freezer is a lot more efficient and by extension, cheaper to run.

Very difficult to find indeed. Did look some time ago and found the one mentioned (144L) if I remember correctly it was at Powerbuy. Gave up, had to leave. Will continue after coming back. Where I am now I saw a side by side refrigerator/freezer with a lot of space and separate compressors, but it takes up a lot of space. Will post should I run into something.

Powerbuy has them from many different brands, in BKK at least.

I would recommend one with an icemaker and a waterdispenser...that's really what you need in Thailand.

Thian, the OP is like me looking for a freezer, not a refrigerator.

Standing/upright freezers are hard to find, the chest freezer model seems to be the norm in Thailand. :wai:

The companies that cater to professional restaurants and commercial kitchens have them. I think food fun or fun food Thailand would be a good place to check.
