Are 3BB broadband about to go down the same path as CTH?

I've no idea, but here are similarities!

I used to receive monthly bills from them, but have now only received one in the past 4 months, despite 3 phone calls requesting them.

Instead, I just receive an sms, on the day payment is due, stating that my service will be terminated if I don't pay on that day!

Do I need that sort of service?

No I do not - just, seemingly, because they wish to save money on printing/posting bills.

They are now just coming across as another "joke" Thai company.

For many months I have been receiving both an emailed bill and a printed bill, though I pay yearly in advance to get the discount so the bill is always for 0 Baht. There is an option on the email to stop receiving the printed bill altogether but this is not obligatory.

My point revolved around their (seeming) desire to save money, by not sending out monthly bills (which they used to do) and the way that could be viewed in relation to that company's longevity!

No more, no less, but think I may be switching to True - once I've checked out the availability of their 799 broadband offering

Like to know more. I just moved into a new place. The old place was the Gf's. They seemed to work pretty good. The new place is naked when it comes to Wi-Fi and TV. I'm a complete idiot when it comes to this. Apt to just hand her a wad of cash and say just set it up.

We rarely get bills from anyone.

The local Post Service is dreadful.

Maybe that is the problem.

Why don't you opt for online billing?

Much easier.

The OP doesn't suspect Thailand Post then? I would.

The sms's means the OP is already past due, in my experience, 3BB are quite forgiving on +30 days past-due but get stroppy after +60 where they even grab your attention by redirecting your browser to your statement.

Regardless, anyone signing a contract for a service that requires paying a fixed amount on the same date each and every month should stop buggering about and authorize and enable automated monthly payments direct by their bank. It's not as if 3BB are suddenly going to go tits up or one is suddenly going to have an epiphany and go 'off grid' and cancel one's internet access.

Do you pay at a 3BB counter/office?

If so, what do you need a bill for?

Go there with your customer number/name and pay.

(I guess you know your payment cycle/due date)

You only need the latest bill if you want to pay at 7/11, Tesco, bank ATM or the like.

No.

I get a bill from ToT a la point every month although I wouldn't need it :)

Some time between beginning of month and the 17th (due date) I go to a ToT office (while shopping or so) and pay the bill (using some old printout with my customer number that I always have in the car).

I don't think there's any basis for comparing CTH with 3BB, just because the OP has had trouble getting mailed monthly billing statements.

I'm a 3BB customer in BKK, and I get mailed monthly statements regularly on schedule, never yet failed to receive one. So I think it's safe to say 3BB hasn't embarked on some massive campaign to stop billing their customers via postal mail.

Without a doubt BBB has your standard Thai management and cannot control their business. Last year the installed their ADSL for me and it worked OK for 2 months until they loaded up the party line so heavy it became worthless. I tried for 6 months to get my bill deducted from my bank account and they could never get it done. I cancelled and will never use their service again.

I changed over to TOT fiber optic which is 200 Baht per month cheaper than BBB that did not work for me. I have 2 friends in Chiang Rai in the country side that uses TOT 20 down and 10 up for 700 Baht per month plus tax. It works great for all 3 of us with no complaints.

I get my 3BB bill every month,  Never missed one in the last 3 years...

I suspect mail delivery in your area may have problem . My address on the bill is in Thai language too.

Have a Thai friend check the address on you bill. Request a copy when you go pay. Maybe something missing.

Over two years I have only had one bill go astray. Not that hard to pay at a 3bb office if it happens. Generally excellent service from them at a reasonable cost.

Same good service in Chiang Mai.  Bill sent monthly, and paid promptly by ebanking.

I agree. The service is seldom down. Bill comes every month and I pay it on the 11th of the month. Must give some thought to cancelling the paper invoice bloody waste of trees. Thank for bringing this up.

Been trying to apply for 3BB for the past two years,  Spent half an hour giving them all the info.  They told me they would forward the info to their techs but never a reply so had a Thai friend give them the same info and a year later, still no reply.  I can see their fiber optic cable from my window going down the length of the soi, but no response.  I am in an older building but suspect they want the whole building or nothing, even though I have told them I would pay for whatever the costs to run the cable to my apartment.  But no reply whatsoever! T.I.T.

Not sure a company can be described as failing because they want to introduce paperless billing. Just about every Internet service provider, utility, bank and insurance company I have back at home has encouraged (but not forced) customers to move to paperless billing and it suits me down to the ground, partially because my wife and I travel a lot and also because I do not want post hanging around in mailboxes, where it can be found and used for identity theft.

Over 3 years, I have also found 3BB to provide excellent service in my town and at least as stable as my UK provider, which is excellent. We pay them yearly and still get the 0 to pay monthly bills. If I could figure out how to move them to paperless, I would. When I originally ordered their service, it was installed 3 days later on the time/date I was given when I placed the order.
