You might consider to buy one of the fancy LED types with misc. features (variable light strength, two different colors, touch-pad switch/slider  etc.).

Don't worry, easy to spend more than 1000 on this.

Put some extra notes in the wallet.

 

There is endless lot of crap sold in the low price segment.

The upscale shops like Home Pro should indeed have a reasonable selection, e.g. at the Big C Extra building on Pattaya central rd.

I got a really nice LED like you mention, KB, at HomeWorks.  Really nice for 790B.  I'd also have a look at the new Index store.

 

I've shopped around a bit looking for one and finally found this.  Didn't want to spend over 1kB for a light! 555
