The Thai people are overwhelmingly happy with the PM's Military Government! After all the corrupt politicians running the show you can hardly blame them. These kids or adults that broke the law need to be held accountable, so throw the book at them. Don't coddle them. There has to be Rule of Order, otherwise you have anarchy, as in the USA with the Blacks!

The Thai people are not overwhelmingly happy with the Junta, they do fear them however.

It is a plain and simple truth that the most corrupt institution in Thailand is the military.

The wealth stripped from the country for personal benefit by generation after generation of Generals dwarfs anything ever done by politicians.

The kids broke ridiculous laws that were enacted by an unelected regime that maintains its rule through fear and oppression.

"as in the US with the blacks".....

This little pearler says all we need to know about you and about your fellow TVF Junta lovers.

definitely personal... he wants to make an example of anyone who opposes him. IF he truly felt the law is the law there would be a crack down on prostitution and other illegal activities that occur daily but instead he chooses to look the other direction when these crims are being committed

Prayut expects amnesty for all the crimes, waste and abuse he commited and others under him commited while in office but he's acting tough about letting this kid go free??? Well, whatever it's just more abuse by the #1 criminal and abuser in Thailand today.

Both Christianity and Buddhism teach mercy, generosity and kindliness of spirit - especially if one holds power over others ....

What I find most disturbing is  "“Do these people love the country?” he asked." How dare he question their love for the country for the simple reason that they did not agree with the the draft constitution? He is basically saying that if you do not agree with his position on anything, you do not love the country. He could not be further from the truth. People from all walks of life have different views about how things should move forward in Thailand. The differing views do not detract from that fact that most of them love their country.  Differing views create a strong democracy, not a militocracy.

You are so right! But a 'strong democracy' is precisely and exactly what is NOT wanted by the Powers That Be. It would be like signing their own death warrant.

555 to funny.

"Did they commit any offence? Asked the prime minister, adding that there is no exception if someone broke the law. "

A draconian law that was only possible because the person uttering the above quote broke the law. Yet he doens't stand trial, or is incarcerated. So it seems some people can brake the law without any consequences.

The self appointed prime minister should not talk about following the law, he has no idea about the concept.
