No Departure Card Received Upon Arrival

Featured Replies

My Thai wife and I arrived from Oslo, NO the morning of 18 Aug 2016 and processed through Passport Control.  I am a U.S. citizen on a retirement visa.  After settling in the next couple of days I was preparing to copy the new stamps in my passport and noticed that Immigrations did not staple the Departure Card that I had completed along with the Arrival Card.  I checked my wifes Thai passport and she did not receive her Departure Card either.  Is this a new policy?  Or, does this mean a trip to the local Immigrations Office.

When I lost mine last month I just had to fill in a new one at the airport when I left the country. The officer at passport control handed me one and I went to the back of the queue to fill it in. Just allow an extra 5 mins.

A lot of people have lost or misplaced them since they stopped stapling them into passports. You might want to check to see if they ended up in your bag or someplace.

You can go to immigration and get a new one if you want to.

Or you can wait until you leave. Normally they will give you one when you check in for your flight so you can fill it out before you get to immigration.

Thai Passports shouldn't have a Departure or arrival card in them when they are in Thailand, so that is completely normal. The departure card in Passport (while in Thailand) is only for Foreigners who come to Thailand

Good advice.

And to save you some time (next time ;) ), you can ask for them at the Airline Desk as they should have some of them for Thai Passengers to fill in when leaving Thailand.

When you get one take a picture of it. If you loose it then just get a new one and write over the new serial number and write the old one. Done it 2 times already heh. Saved some time instead of having to go aside and write it and possible be in the back of the queue again. For some reason immigration misplaces the card every time I do my visa extensions.
