How Many Days for a Land Entry?

Featured Replies

At this time, how many days does an American citizen get for a land entry? Also, is the border at Phu Nam Ron, Kanchanaburi still closed for land entries?

  1. 30 days.
  2. It's open for entries if traveling from Myanmar, but not for out/in border hops.

At this time according to recent reports you cannot do a crossing at Ban Phu Nam Ron unless you have a visa for Myanmar.

Before that change happened you could not do a crossing unless you had a valid visa for re-entry. No crossings were allowed for a new visa exempt entry.

I assume if you got a visa for Myanmar they would let your cross to Myanmar and then re-enter after a day or so to a get visa exempt entry.

As known by now: Any sort of "border crossings" (including Immigration Matters), is subject to the assessment of the local Immigration Chieftain. (Never mind police orders from Bangkok ). Above mentioned border crossing must qualify as the most "volatile" in the entire Kingdom. = Rules that apply today, may not apply tomorrow.

Therefore: Advice given concerning above border crossing must be qualified as purely speculative, bare of any kind of certainty.

Cheers.
