Fighting cocks death - is a grisly ghost at work?

NAKHON SAWAN: -- The mysterious deaths of ten valuable fighting cocks has led a villager to believe that a grisly ghost is at work.

The ten cocks - worth well over 100,000 baht - were found disemboweled on Sunday morning at the coop in Ta Khli district of Nakorn Sawan province, reported Daily News.

The corpses of the chickens were all left - they just had a large hole and the intestines and livers were all missing.

Tossapon Phokan who looks after the animals said that this indicated that it was not the work of dogs or snakes who would not leave the bodies of the chickens if they attacked. He said it was likely the work of an aggressive ghost known in Thai as "Phi Phop".

He also told reporters that he suspected a rival fighting cock owner in the district, who likes to dabble in the dark arts, for having summoned the Phi Phop with the help of a "professor" who arrived in the area from Phitsanulok.

But he stressed that this was just his own theory.

The owner of the coop said that dogs had got in and told him to pile up the cocks ready for the dustmen to collect.

Some kind of Asian chupycabra.

He summoned the ghost of Gregory Peck.

Ten cocks valued at over 100,000 baht eh. Might have to take my cock for an appraisal.

might be worth a couple of satangs.

A good fighting cock can be worth a lot of money. A few months ago a man from our village went to Rayong and purchased a bird for 5,000 baht. That night someone came to his place and stole it!

Maybe he shouldn't have crowed about his new purchase and how much it was worth  !

Sorry.    :wai:

Wish this ghost would come around my house and get rid of the 15 or so fighting cocks around it,  the noise they make day and night is really annoying! :bah:

No problem with 'normal' chicken btw.

10k a pop? What makes them so special?

Several years ago one of wifey's uncles sold a champion fighting clock for 100k bht! He was a well known breeder in the area until his flock was wiped out in the bird flu epidemic which probably cost him close to a million bht.

Any lottery numbers showing?

"Fighting cocks death - is a grisly ghost at work?"

No.

Of course.  If it's Thailand, has to be a ghost.  Time to bring in the monks.

I met a Filipino in Thailand and she had the same idea about ghosts eating the innards of people back in the Philippines.

Normally "Pee Bop" goes after a different type of "cock" ,,,, I think Aliens are a more logical assumption.

Definitely displays all the hallmarks of a Phi Phop operation, beware, no cocks are immune!
