affidavit of income for o-a app

Featured Replies

Silly question perhaps, but just wa

nt to be sure...

re the affidavit of income when applying to the 1 year extension, is there  specific form they prefer that I  fill out and get notarized at the embassy? Will any US embassy affidavit be good or do I need one specifically via the US embassy in Bangkok?

To apply for an extension of stay at immigration you would have to have an income affidavit from the US embassy in Bangkok or the consulate in Chiang Mai.

You can find info here: https://th.usembassy.gov/u-s-citizen-services/

Just to be clear - ONLY an affidavit from bkk or cm is accepted vs getting an affidavit at any US Consulate (for those outside of thailand)?

You would need to be here to apply for an extension based upon retirement at immigration. Thai immigration will only accept a affidavit from the embassy or consulate here.

It only takes about half an hour to do the affidavit at the embassy in Bangkok.

You can also do them at the outreaches they do.
