BANGKOK: -- Police have arrested a gang who were transporting drugs in a concealed compartment above the gas tank on a passenger bus.

Almost 900,000 Ya Ba and 10 kilos of crystal meth worth 20 million baht were found concealed in the vehicle, reported tnamcot.

The gang of five - led by a man named as Khomsan Khatyarat - were taking the Class A dugs from Nakorn Panom to Narathiwat in the far south of the country. The drugs would end up in Malaysia later.

They said they had done it many times before but were never caught - they were paid 1,000,000 baht a time.

Commissioner Sanit Mahathavorn turned up for the photo shoot on Monday and revealed where the drugs were concealed. He said that the bust took place at a gas station in Saraburi.

The gang were charged with possessing class A drugs with intent to sell.

They were caught this time, because of a failure to communicate , maybe a defiance in tax payment coupled with outstanding survielance.

On the contrary- they were caught because someone communicated, and grassed them up. The police are too lazy and incompetent to figure this out on their own using solid investigation and surveillance practices.

The old 'Acting on a tip off' eh?
