Police hunt Eastern European gang who hit Thailand’s state bank ATMs with malware

Police are hunting a major gang from eastern Europe who have stolen at least 12 million baht from Omsin Bank ATMs in Bangkok and the south.

One killed, 30 wounded by explosions in southern Thailand: police

 

PATTANI: -- One Thai person was killed and 30 wounded when two bombs exploded late on Tuesday near a hotel in the southern Thai beach town of Pattani, police said, less than two weeks after a series of blasts hit the south.

BANGKOK, 24 August 2016 (NNT) - His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej on Tuesday expressed his, as well as Her Majesty the Queen’s, condolences at the passing of former Singapore President S.R. Nathan. 

In the royal message sent to the President of Singapore, His Majesty the King wrote he and the Queen had learnt with profound regret of the demise of His Excellecy Mr. S.R. Nathan, former President of the Republic of Singapore. Their Majesties offered sincere sympathy and condolences to the Singapore President and members of the bereaved family as well as the people of the Republic of Singapore for the loss of one of the country's statesmen.

Seoul: North Korea fires submarine-launched missile

SEOUL, South Korea (AP) — A North Korean ballistic missile fired from a submarine Wednesday flew about 500 kilometers (310 miles) in the longest flight by that type of weapon, Seoul officials said, a range that can place much of South Korea within its striking distance.

Environment groups oppose dam projects on Salween river

PHUKET: -- An electrician who worked for a company sub-contracted by the Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA) was hospitalised yesterday afternoon (Aug 23) after being electrocuted while working on high-voltage cables in Patong.
