Defense committee calls for integration of intelligence agencies

BANGKOK, 24 August 2016 (NNT) - The Ministry of Defense's committee on state administration reform has tasked the police and the National Security Council (NSC) with integrating intelligence agencies nationwide.

Captain Kongcheep Tantrawanich, spokesperson of the Ministry of Defense, revealed that the meeting had followed up on various reform agendas, including police reform, which must be implemented within 2016-17.

On intelligence reform, the committee concluded the Royal Thai Police and the NSC must integrate the work of both agencies.

The committee also affirmed that the projects to improve Bangkok’s canals are taking into consideration public input, while also working towards the goal of boosting income of nearby communities.

0+0+0 still = 0. Somehow police and military sharing efforts and resources seems hopeful at best. They typically are more like competitors and not on same page or even playbook. I could be wrong....

In most countries, the military and the police work closely and seamlessly to share intelligence and develop joint operational commands. InThailand, the military and the police are working to compete with each other and the commanders make cooperation worse by making assumptions and irrational statements without consulting each other and without much evidence. Even the most mudane of police tasks have been overtaken by the military and affect the morale of the police force and makes cooperation difficult. The top leaders carry most of the blame.

Should already be complete.  Vert little sign of intelligence in any Thai government agencies.

"...Defense committee calls for integration of intelligence agencies..."

A great opportunity to merge all those "brains" who thought they could outsmart the system, currently sitting in inactive posts?
