Pattaya forum is not read by all the visa experts (visa forum).

You seem to refer to Aranyaprathet?

Plan no less than 4h drive from Pattaya to Ar. at normal traffic.

Less is possible with some luck.

Depending on where you start in Pattaya a considerable amount of creeping through Pattaya.

Without having own experience: I would get up early, leave no later than 7:00h to avoid Pattaya traffic.

And if possible select a quiet day of week (Tuesday to Thursday).

Baan pakhad is the crossing of choice for most runners. Takes about 3.5 hours by car (235 km). Few  people at the border in the early afternoon when the minibusses have left.

Agree

Plus that is much better border crossing than Aranyaprathet/Poi Pet.

No

You take Hwy 3 to Chantaburi at the start of your trip. You can get directions by clicking the link to a google map in this post.
