August 29, 20169 yr I have had my EVT+ just 9 months so it went in for the first service today. Mileage is 10,450kms. I decided to buy SSP today, now I wish I’d have bought it a few months ago, same time as I bought PPP, as it was on offer at a cheaper price then. SSP covers all routine servicing costs up to and including 63months (105,000kms). I added up the present cost of Routine Services up to that period and it came to a little over 33,000thb. I guess that servicing costs will increase over the next five years so anyway. I got to the garage about 10am and was away about 11:45am. I dodged their car washing offer. I asked my friendly English speaking Tech to check the ‘suspect’ seal which is somewhere between the engine and gearbox … this one … http://www.fordforums.com.au/showthread.php?t=11452234 and sure enough it’s leaking. I don’t think that the guy doing the service would have said anything. Apparently there is one other place to watch for oil leakage and that is at a gasket on the housing of each rear wheel Quite a big job … 3-days … they will order the new seal and let me know. I enquired about Sync3 with him, basically no way to convert from Sync2. Also talked about aftermarket mod and he said not a good idea as they had one in for quite a while sorting out the mess … having said that one of our contributors ‘Big Guns’ says his is fine. Think I’ll stick with my phone stuck on the dashboard for a while longer. If I had thought that Ford wouldn’t have sorted some way to put a GPS on the MY15 screen and that Sync3 is now supplied on the MY16 and with the other bits I probably would have waited as I will keep this quite a few years. Really happy with it though, a good choice.
