7 province bombing case investigation progresses by 50 percent

  

NAKHON SI THAMMARAT, 1 September 2016 (NNT) – The lead investigator of the 7 upper southern province bombings has traveled to Nakhon Si Thammarat and Trang to take on more information, indicating the cases have progressed by over 50 percent now and more arrests will soon be sought as intelligence has shown suspects may be hiding out in the southern border region. 

Deputy Commissioner of the Royal Thai Police Pol Gen Sriwara Rangsiphramnakul has personally traveled to Nakhon Si Thammarat and Trang to follow up on data in the 7 southern province bombings.

 

He made known that authorities are ready to seek arrest warrants for suspects wanted in incidents in Nakhon Si Thammarat, Surat Thani and Phuket as investigations have progressed by more than 50 percent.

 

He did not indicated if more detainments would take place for questioning however, saying the information could impact the work of police. He let on nonetheless, that intelligence has led police to strongly believe many of the suspects in the bombings are hiding in the southern border region. 

Meanwhile, 4 state offices have handed out aid funds to those impacting by the attacks in Prachuabkirikan province’s Hua Hin district. A total 17 Thai people were injured in the bombing at the resort town with 2 more killed.

 

All together the victims received a combined 2.2 million baht prompted by a call for special assistance from the Prime Minister.
