Transport Ministry to submit short-term and long-term plans to solve Bangkok's traffic problems

  

BANGKOK, 2 September 2016 (NNT) - The Office of Transport and Traffic Policy and Planning under the Ministry of Transport will submit to Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha short-term and long-term plans to solve Bangkok's traffic problems. 

Office of Transport and Traffic Policy and Planning Director Chaiwat Thongkhamkhoon said he had been assigned by the premier to solve the problems of traffic congestion in the capital city. 

The Office of Transport and Traffic Policy and Planning has studied both short-term and long-term measures for tackling traffic congestions in response to the public transport systems which are currently under construction. 

The Office of Transport and Traffic Policy and Planning will submit short-term and long-term plans to solve the overall traffic problems to the premier via Transport Minister Arkhom Termphitthayaphaisith within September.

first of all you should understand that there are over 9 million vehicles registered in bangkok ,however the current road surface can only handle about 20% of these now.

Make em buy a monthly pass to use city streets especially work related travel. Get rid of the taxi's and install a proper bus system emphasis on the word proper. Travel sharing, if only 1 person in a vehicle tax em. Take the personal fluffers, groomers, handmaidens away from the police generals give em a whistle and stick em on a busy street corner (my favorite)

Mass transit in Bangkok is still rather poor.  Until they come up with more BRT or LRT routes, there will be no fix. 

 

Bangkok is a disaster.  You really have to know your back alleys to get around.

The solutionsis very simply
Force the traffic police doing theire job in the most stringed way,and raise up the traffic fines with 100%. 

In 6 months theire will be no more traffic jams in Bangkok, because 95 % of traffic jams is created by the motorists themselves.Taxis who waiting on bussstops should loose  theire licende and car.
