Who said college people are smart?

What they have is "no experience", and it will be years before they catch up with people who have "skills" they have learned/adapted to, outside of college.

 

I should know...as I am a college grad, but could not even find a job.  Had to go entry level and compete with more mature/street smart employees.  

 

At their young age, those college grads are still stumbling around trying to fit in.  I sure would not want them to lead me.
