I READ AN ARTICLE IN THE PATTAYA TRADER THIS MONTH BY A MARKETING COMPANY CALLED 'PAPPA' WHO ARE BASED IN PATTAYA RE. TYPE B MULTI ENTRY VISAS AVAILABLE IN THAILAND i.e NOT HAVING TO LEAVE THAILAND EACH YEAR.

THE QUOTED COST FOR THEM TO SET THIS UP WAS 35,000 BAHT PLUS 10,000 IN EACH SUBSEQUENT YEAR. SOUNDS VERY EXPENSIVE .

DOES ANYONE KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THIS OR THE COMPANY AS NO-ONE ELSE IS TALKING ABOUT IT.

ALSO A MEETING OF IMMIGRATION OFFICIALS ON 9th OCTOBER REPORTED THE AVAILABILITY OF A NEW 3 YEAR MULTI ENTRY VISA AVAILABLE FROM CONSULATES FOR 10,000 BAHT BUT THE LOCAL IMMIGRATION OFFICE HAD NOT HEARD OF THIS. ANY IDEAS ?

Nos seem to indicate that this is the cost for setting up a company - which could then lead to a work permit and non-em B visa. Naturally it would have to be a real biz, earning money, and enough profits to pay salary Etc. Cheers!

The 3 year visa apparently is only issued by EMBASSIES (please, only use big letters for emphasis), not consulates, and that means outside Thailand, and probably is for agents or managers of multi national companies, not for retirees, worker-employees in Thailand, etc.

Thankyou for the helpful responses to both of my queries.

I didn't know that 'BIG LETTERING' was not permitted !!

I will consider myself reprimanded !!

No, that wasn't a reprimand, it was a "please" with an example. I didn't used to be sensitive, but too many people think all capital letters (upper case to the Brits) is rude, like you're shouting. After many hours of staring at mostly lower case lettering, it does seem like shouting.

Uhm, I'm not an expert; you might want to ask Tinkerbell if I can find her.....

There is a new 3 year Non-Immigrant B mulitple-entry visa which basically is for business people who travel to Thailand freuqently to source goods etc but who do not actually work there. You are NOT permitted to work under the terms of this visa. I have been looking into this and got full info from the Thai Embassy in London (it states you can only apply for it in your home country).

Need lots of paperwork and it can ONLY be applied for at an Embassy, NOT a consulate.

They also stipulate that you have to apply in person and make an appointment before hand. The fee in the Uk is 190 GB Pound (approx 13,000 Thai baht) and is NON-REFUNDABLE!

You should be able to get full info from the Embassy of your home country if of interest.

There are many companies is the Pattaya area offering Visa to Thailand and to the West for Thais.

My friend this week talked with a company, he is hoping to take his latest bar girl home for a 4 weeks, to reduce the amount of loney days in the UK.

A certain company in Pattaya has said they can guarantee him a visa to get his Thai girl friend back to the UK, insinuating that they have friends at the embassy and can do a deal.

First he has to pay 10,000bht and they apply, if turned down he has to pay 40,000bht and they reapply, if he is turned down a second time, he then pays 60,000bht amd they guarantee the visa for his girl friend.

Obviously this is just a scam to keep the farang chasing his money with more money.

No doubt people take money for favours, but would this be advertised to any drunk farang walking into the pattaya office. I don’t think so.

The only way I am aware of achieving a 12month visa and not leaving Thailand.

Over 50, 800,000bht in the bank or an income and savings to amount to the said money

Apply for a 3 month non immigrant O visa, reason to obtain a retirement visa

Then apply for a retirement Visa.

You don’t need to use a company to get a visa that you qualify to get. I obtained an investment visa without the help of any company. Immigration may waste some of your time, but they give out visas never the less.

Ask this company which visa he can obtain for you and then report back

i think people are dreaming when they sign on to schemes like this.

the best thing to do is to do all the paperwork yourself and then you know exactly where you stand.

this scheme for multiple years is a joke and anyone that signs on deserves to be ripped off. does anyone know what the thai govt will do tomorrow? heck, there is no thai govt...

there is no magic bullet - not even gold card. get used to it and live accordingly.
