As much as I don’t like the article’s purpose, it’s accurate. The only fault I have is the terminology is changed for the normal person to understand. This is a law firm who I know very well and they know what they are talking about. Today you are getting in debates with everyone it seems. You are not a lawyer and your posts are not backed up by any laws. If you want to make statements like this about the article, contact John Spooner directly. He knows his stuff. I may not agree with his advertising practices but he knows his stuff. -

Pink I.D Card & Yellow Book
I have had mine since 2010 and the number just means you are on the Thai database. Interaction with any department doesn't happen unless it is initiated. I registered at the hospital with my yellow book and when covid came along the hospital put me on the app without me having to do anything. Had the vaccine about 9am the day rollout started while those that dismiss the benefits of the yellow book were pulling their hair out. I knew someone who was registered at the same hospital and his wife went and complained when she found out about my appointment. Turned out he had registered with his passport and had no 13 digit number. -

I'm pleased you said "choose" I actually did "follow the science" and decided that, for me, it was the best path back to normalcy. Ignoring the conspiracy opinions, I watched and listened to the scientists and doctors working for the major research organisations. There was a TV programme about the Oxford research labs explaining how and why the testing was expedited (Panorama The Race for a Vaccine https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d6MUey5lD4c ) Yes...my choice could have been seen as a gamble, and might have killed me but I would truly rather be dead than kept under lockdown and restricted for ever more. Other people may scoff and call me an idiot, but to them I say "you make your choices and I'll make mine." I've parted company with a couple of long-term friends over this very issue, unfortunately. And...I've said this several times now...no regrets. -

We agree on stopping illegal immigration ... a bipartisan Bill was resented, Trump killed it as he wanted to use this as a campaign issue. The USA is currently pumping oil at it highest rate under the Biden administration. Not starting wars? Right ... he stated that uses should be free to do as it wishes ... I do not view that as being in our interest. I also had issues with the Trump agreed to Afghanistan withdrawal (we might agree we should not have occupied ... I favored a devastating retribution for their allowing the 9/11 training camps but boots on the ground I opposed both there and in Iraq. Not knowledgable enough to weigh in on the TPP. -

Obtaining a Thailand tax ID #
This was only a "suggestion" from the recent/current DG of the Thai RD and if it happens it should take a while to go through the legal process. Really from whom? There was a change in the interpretation of one rule which arguably could have as much effect on Thai's as much as foreigners and then a subsequent ruling allowing savings pre 31/12/2023 to be exempted. Respectfully you may want to read some of the other threads on this subject as what you have written perhaps suggests some miscomprehensions.......- 1

Reasons of change
Same happened in Bangkok 30 years ago when all taxis were made to use their meters and not make up silly prices to rip off foreigners. Only difference is it was never applied in Pattaya so they continued to rip off foreigners until Grab came along, and now Bolt. No sympathy for the taxi drivers from me, they were just plain greedy before. -

Not anymore. They also did away with it at land crossings, not too long ago.
