Report by Pattaya One News Team

PATTAYA: -- Just after midnight, on September 12, twenty-three-year old Sakulrat Wigsantia made a report to the Pattaya police station.

She claims that at 3am, on the morning of September 10, she was swimming in the sea with her boyfriend at Pattaya Beach and had left her bag on the beach.

She says she watched as a man ran onto the sand, grabbed her belongings and hurried away.

After being informed the police sent a team to look for the bag snatcher and found him outside Tukcom on South Pattaya.

Thirty-seven-year old Mr. Thana (aka La) Kerdmongkol was arrested with 11,000 baht in his pockets and took officers to the elevated road, towards Bali Hai Pier, under which he had stashed Ms Sakulrat’s property.

He has been charged with theft and will be sent for trial.

  3am?  Skinny dipping?

Nice to see a simple open and shut case ! I have never encountered a thief who would ever admit to any wrongdoing, it,s part of their makeup :(

...not blaming the victim for once....

...or stating....'alleged' crime.....

Some people make it just too easy, leaving your bag on the beach at 3am while you and

your BF have a swim. Stuck on dumb as far as I am concerned. Great job by the police

to nab the guy so quickly. :coffee1:

I have some devious idea what they did in the murky waters off Pattaya at 3 AM :whistling:  :P

They were plain(un)clothed police and it was a "honeytrap" :)

Only a measly 7 posts?

Just think how this thread would have been humming if the perp had been a ladyboy.

"Man snatches bag" is not "news".

"Ladyboy snatches bag"?   "They" all come running.

If he used the bike to get away, I say confiscate it and destroy it.

Probably more of a deterrent than a small fine.

Since he stashed the result of his snatch under the Bali Hai overpass, which may be his "home", he'll be happy to spend some time in jail.
