BANGKOK: -- A young woman is dead and three people injured after a car and a taxi collided on Pahonyothin Road on Sunday night.

Naphaporn Sripawathakun, 25, was found face down in a pile of rubbish next to the bus stop in the Saphan Kwai area, reported Sanook. She was dead at the scene.

A Mitsubishi Lancer had collided with a Toyota Altis taxi moments earlier as the driver of the Lancer attempted to change lanes.

Natthawat Luangprajakjaeng, 35, the Lancer driver, was taken to hospital injured along with two other male bystanders who were also hurt.

The accident occurred on the outbound side of the road. Police intend to interview both drivers again as they proceed with the case.

What a waste of the girls life.

I am going to speculate that "attempted to change lanes" translates to "abruptly changed lane at high speed without adequate room and clipped front of taxi and subsequently lost control".

We dont have the facts yet SABloke...blah blah blah. I live in Bangkok and am 99% sure my version is correct.

Changing lanes? From the photos it looks as if they've collided head-on. Changing lanes into the oncoming traffic maybe? Sad waste of a life.

There appears to be an unwritten rule in Bangkok that you have to change lanes every 30 seconds. I love it when they do that and the lane they've just left empties.

....wait until the day after to 'interview' the drivers....???

...so no blood or urine tests.....???

....hmmm....
