"Good  guys in bad  guys out".................. BUT MONEY FIRST....... and  who gives a shiiiite..... The  joke thats is Thailand security.......... SO tell me great general WHO is going to get fired over this blatant security breach?????????

So what is the problem, except for problem gamblers. You are in no mans land. You can't go any further.People coming the other way have to exit Cambodia and enter Thailand at a minimum of 15 days.Thais don't seem to have a problem paying 50 baht for a day pass to the casino. Why get a passport to go to no mans land. Some of you blokes need to stop bashing at any oportunity and see what's practiable. You don't rekon the PM knows about this, been going on for over a decade that i know of.

and how is one expected to monitor and control issues like terrorism, general crime and social problems created by this  easy movement of people.

First step is exposing it and reporting it as has happened here. Easy win for prayuth. Stamp on this hard and fast. Yel

I too have seen this happen at Sadao.

The guy in front of me in the queue, with a Thai minder, produced no documents.  Cash was passed to the immigration officer and he was admitted with no questions asked.

Why complain uptoyoumyfriend asks.

Among other purposes immigration control is there to prevent the entry of criminals and terrorists.  Admitting unknown persons for cash completely undermines that.

Don't know about Sadao, but at Chong Chom people are going to the casino and same people are coming back. They are Thai and farangs with passports.Everybody that leaves, comes back.Tourists and terrorists from elsewhere coming through Cambodia, need passports and visa or visa exempt.Cambodians get checked at numerous roadblocks around Surin Provence.

No it doesn't. This  is applying to all that go to the casino Thai or foreigner. Don't even thank of trying this if your crossing over for a trip to Siem Reap. This scam has been going on for over a year. Before the coup 2014 it was 100 baht so you are getting a discount.:whistling: BTW at this crossing  the Cambodian Immigration change 1500 baht for a visa and 300 baht for doing a u-turn.

I tried that about 10-years ago – U-turn, as I needed stamps for a Visa-run – that was very difficult. The Thai immigration officer looked at me, as I was some alien from outer space – well, officially I am an alien – and he had to adjust date in his stamp, to stamp me out. On the Cambodian side were three patches, two wide on each side leading straight into one of the two casinos almost glued to the border line, and one in the middle for Immigration, used by border-market vendors. Such a weird thing as a Visa, which was needed to stamp me into their Kingdom, seemed like a completely unprepared situation, so I ended with some mostly handwritten permission – the mandatory photo was completely ignored – and an entry stamp. However, I did look inside one the of casinos – I thought that you can just enter a casino and walk out of the smaller side-entrance, and straight into Cambodia without any stamps at all – but as I'm not addicted to gamling, I saved me spare 100-baht for the Thai Immigration officer, so he would be kind and change the date in his rubber-stamp, and stamp me back into Thailand...:)

Cambodian O'Smack Immigration in 2006 – the large portal on the right is entrance to one of the two casinos at the border; there was a similar on the left, but that was too big to also find it's way into my tiny camera.

Used that crossing many times and never paid anything to Thai Immigration.   Cambodian Immigration is a very different matter, 1,500 Baht for a Cambodian visa PLUS  300 Baht because I immediately cross back into Thailand.  That 300 Baht is a scam I'm sure , but the grim -faced official behind the desk demands it every time.  This thread doesn't mention this, so have I been duped and is there a way to avoid the 1,800 Baht every 90 days,  apart from having 40k monthly income or 400k in a Thai bank ?

Same in Sadao.....With a passport you have to pay 2 ringgit. Others pay more and walk through.......

Sadao even have runners on motorbikes and cars to ferry you through immigration both ways. You should see the bus pick up area on the Malaysian side(right under the noses of the Malaysian immigration and customs),  full of working girls being unloaded by these runners for 500 baht each.

Off topic I know, but keep up with the news. Brits might have to apply for a visa costing a tenner to visit a European Union country after Brexit. The OP presumes that will be per country, and he/she might be correct.

It's just another unfounded rumour, why would they do that now they never have.

Sounds like similar logic as here, how to lose tourists.

Sorry that would be 250,000 not 500,000

Sorry, if you had taken the time to read my post " at the weekends 5000 Thais daily crossing the border to visit the casino. That is 500,000 Baht per weekend " carefully, comprehend and then adding a comment you wouldn't had to embarrass yourself.

Thanks to Brexit Brits may in future be paying £10 to go to France and £50 to go across Europe. Great, huh?

When I travell around Western Europe, before the EU,I don't recall paying anything at boarder controls. Me thinks another scare story.

What's all the fuss about, it's similar to Schengen, the French enter Germany and vice versa, no passport required.

For some reason the Thais really hate the Khmers, even though the Khmers are better in many different ways. That's what the fuss is all about.

This indicates a independent policy 'as the officer in charge' will decide immigration issues.

Immigration not only lets people in and out, but what else?

Nice prospect for the men and women who are ordered to put their lives on the line to protect and serve.

Thai Rak Thai new style?
