I'm running Windows 10 and there is no sound. The volume control shows the levels moving, but when plugging in headphones or speakers there's no sound. This is happening whether using the rear input or the front input. Any help much appreciated.

Maybe a silly question........ dd you right click on the speaker button in the task-bar ?  check Playback Devices  there are 4 options,  have to change every time  plugin the headphones............ click on Headphones then set as default, then OK.......... same with on board speaker or added extra speakers..  Don;t forget to set  'Set default' 

Right click the Start button and go to Mobility Center. Check to see if the Mute button is checkmarked.
