Monomial
My current extension of stay is based on a work permit from a BOI company, and done through the One Stop Service Center. The company will not be renewing my position in November when the work permit expires. I wish to get a new extension of stay based on my marriage and a 400k bank account (which I have already had for 3 months). My question is: Can I simply apply at the local immigration office 30 days before my current stay expires, just like I would normally do? Is there any special process required because the current extension of stay/work permit was issued through a different office (namely the One Stop Service Center)? Thank you for any assistance. ubonjoe
You current extension will have to be canceled at the one stop center before you can change the reason for your extension to one based upon marriage. It is possible to submit a letter from your employer stating the date your job ends a few day before that date and they will post date the cancellation to that date. Then you could apply for the new extension prior to the cancellation date.
